Low Vision Aids (Optical)

Eye diseases can cause blindness, but most people who suffer from eye diseases manage to preserve some limited amount of eyesight. Any recent onset of visual impairment can be very disturbing, because it can affect our daily routine and the way we wish to do things. Fortunately, there are Low Vision Aids to help us to maximise the use of the remaining eyesight.

For patients suffering from visual impairment, IGARD Group offers LV Spectacles (including LV Prism, Glare Control, LV Eyewear with Sideshields, Contrast Enhancement, Blue Blocker, UV Protection), LV Magnifiers and LV Telescopes. These may be obtained after completing a Low Vision Assessment which examines the suitability for a visually-impaired individual to use them.

With the help of low vision aids, patients will be taught how they can cope with their visual disabilities using their remaining eyesight which had been preserved from their medical treatment. To maximise the use of low vision aids, they may need to be used in combination with a pair of spectacles or contact lenses. This service is strictly by appointment only.
